About Holly.
When I was 15 years old, I started working at a daycare center and have been supporting children, teens, and families ever since. Through my 25 years of experience, I have worked in settings such as schools, in-home, non-profits, community, and systems (Justice). I have found one thing to hold true throughout; as humans we need to feel safe to truly heal.
My passion in this work has been to create a space in which people feel safe. I believe that therapy should move at a pace that is best for each individual person. Often, people share they have avoided therapy as they don’t want to feel the pain that can come with being vulnerable.
I meet people where they are and walk alongside them. I also emphasize the importance of support. This can look like creating new connections to yourself such as hobbies and coping skills or trying something new you’ve always wanted to try. Connections with family and friends in ways that feel authentic to you. Connections to community that create growth and safety. While we may only meet once or twice a week, I believe it’s important to create practices that carry the meaningful work you are doing in therapy.
I offer telehealth sessions for clients located in Minnesota and will soon provide in person sessions at my office in South Minneapolis.
Most of my work in the past ten years has been supporting individuals and families as they navigate healing from trauma. Other areas of experience are body image, anxiety, harm reduction, relationship stress, and assessing and re-creating narratives around self.
